As part of Nick Cassenbaum’s Bubble Schmeisis, Sunday, March 23rd’s performance will be preceded by Bagels and Beigels–an exploration of American bagels, British beigels, and the differences between them.

Facilitated by bagel expert Aidan Everly of BagelUp and Bubble Schmeisis writer and star Nick Cassenbaum, this pre-show feature will include tastes of both bagels and beigels. Don’t miss this witty (and tasty!) exploration of American, Jewish, and British culinary and cultural life.

Registration for Bagels and Beigels is included in all tickets purchased for the performance of Bubble Schmeisis on Sunday, March 23rd.

Aidan Everly

A lifelong bagel fan, Aidan fell down the "bagel hole" of bagel history in 2022 and hasn’t looked back emerging as one of NYC’s leading bagel experts. As the Business Development Manager at BagelUp, the company behind BagelFest, Aidan has dedicated himself to preserving and sharing the rich story of the New York bagel.

From leading hands-on bagel-making classes to curating bagel tours that highlight the best bagel shops in the city, Aidan brings a unique perspective on how bagels have shaped—and continue to shape—NYC’s culinary and cultural landscape.

Before bagels, Aidan’s career was in theatre and film/TV. While his focus has shifted from scripts to schmears, his passion for history, culture, and sharing great stories remains the same.

Through his work, he continues to share the evolution of the New York City bagel and help thousands experience the magic of this iconic food firsthand.

Nick Cassenbaum

Nick is a storyteller, street performer, and theater maker. He has an MA from Goldsmiths in Writing for Performance and is a graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers program. Nick writes plays, makes and performs solo work, creates street performances and broadcasts podcasts for the
Guardian.

He is co-artistic director of take stock exchange and has made work for local authorities, such as Redbridge and Waltham Forest, and has also been commissioned by the Soho Theatre, Royal Court, and Battersea Arts Centre to create performances based on local heritage and storytelling.
