About the event
On Monday, October 6 the Sukkot in The Neighborhood festival will kick off with an opening night ritual/art activation in Susan Stainman’s Structures of Welcoming installation. This communal practice will draw on Jewish ideas of welcoming ancestors, strangers, and one another. Together we will meditate, sing, and share space with intentions of cultivating love and hospitality.
On Sukkot, it is traditional to invite guests into one’s Sukkah – both the individuals who will physically gather for celebration, and the supernal guests invoked through meditation and prayer.
This event will feature guided meditation, singing, kabbalistic learning, and cozy hospitality. Don’t miss your first chance to explore the Sukkah alongside the artist.
This event will take place as part of Sukkot in The Neighborhood – a festival of Jewish arts, culture, and spirituality taking place in an art installation Sukkah in Brooklyn. Check out the full line-up of events here.
