About the event

Open Stages is Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s annual free, outdoor musical event featuring dozens of artists. For the second year in a row, The Neighborhood will be curating a stage of Jewish music for Open Stages. This year, our stage will highlight music that reinterprets and remixes texts from the Hebrew Bible, featuring artists Lainie Fefferman and Yula Beeri.


Lainie Fefferman’s ensemble will present work from Here I Am–a song cycle that brings a fresh perspective to ancient sacred literature through original and heart-provoking musical composition. For this performance, Here I Am will be performed by Kamilla Arku (keyboard), Lainie Fefferman (vocals, percussion), Sybil’s Chloe Holgate and Lily Holgate (vocals, violin, percussion), and James Moore (electric guitar).
