Join us on Monday, April 20 for the first installment of the Jewish Cookbook Social Club! This month’s culinary voyage will explore Second Generation, an expansive cookbook of modernized Hungarian-Jewish delights by Jeremy Salamon, a James Beard-nominated chef and owner of the beloved Agi’s Counter in Brooklyn.
In Second Generation, traditional Hungarian classics are updated with a twenty-first-century point of view. Agi’s Counter staples like the Tuna Melt, Caraway Caesar Salad, and the Chilled Buttermilk Borscht bring your favorite diner counter straight to your kitchen. With tips from a professional chef curated for the home cook, these recipes are accessible for all levels of expertise in the kitchen.
How it works:
Sign up to join fellow curious home cooks and cookbook nerds for The Neighborhood’s Jewish Cookbook Social Club series!
Each month between April and June, the club will focus on one incredible Jewish cookbook to cook and learn from in our own home kitchens. Then, we will come together in Gertie’s magical Brooklyn backyard to nosh and celebrate.
Buy a ticket, grab the book, and get inspired!
Cook up a recipe from the book and bring it to GERTIE to share in our potluck.
Get ready for a schmooze and conversation between our chefs and award-winning cookbook author Leah Koenig.
Next month at Jewish Cookbook Social Club, we’ll be noshing with Jennifer Abadi. Sign up here!
