Moving Through What We Carry with Mor Mendel

On October 7th, we will gather in the Sukkah for an exploratory movement workshop shaped by breath, imagery, music, and gentle structures for processing. Facilitated by dance artist Mor Mendel, we will practice simple body exercises and prompts, and connect with each other as well as ourselves, working both alone and with partners.

Our bodies are the homes of our feelings, sensations, and memories — everything we are, everything we have been, and everything we are becoming. Movement is the language of the body. Through it, we enter a space of introspection, where feeling, remembering, and connecting unfold, both within ourselves and with each other. We trust our bodies to guide us toward self-discovery, comfort, and honesty. Here, there is nothing to perform, establish, or prove. No scale of right or wrong, beautiful or ugly; just the dance and how it reveals to us how our body roars. Just our breath and how it anchors us in the present moment.

This workshop is suitable for all (ages 18 and up) and requires no prior movement training or experience. Come as you are, leave having listened deeply to the knowledge of your moving body and your beating hearts and of those moving with you.

With a focus on bringing our community together, The Neighborhood is committed to ensuring that all who wish to participate are able to do so. If price is an obstacle to your participation in this event, please email info@theneighborhoodbk.org to request an accommodation.
